Petrina Murphy, a 41-year-old mom from Queensland, Australia, was in her bathroom looking at her skylight when she saw something that would have horrified just about anyone else.
There, against the window over her shower, was a pair of huge pythons. But instead of doing something you might expect anyone else to do in such a situation — like running away screaming or calling the police — Petrina decided to handle the situation herself.
“I saw them tangled around each other through the skylight, so I got the broom and used the handle to get them to fall out into the shower,” she said.
Yep — Petrina purposefully made the snakes fall into her shower!
“They had really wrapped themselves around each other, and their tails were all knotted up. Some people who’ve seen the video have asked if they’re mating,” she said. “But they’re definitely two males fighting.”
Now, instead of getting away from the two dueling snakes, Petrina just took up her broom again, shut all the doors to close the snakes in, and then casually swept them towards the exit.
“They didn’t seem bothered when I was sweeping them out,” she recalled. “One took off pretty quickly, but the other one kept trying to head in the direction of the bins, so I was talking to it.”
