More Boko Haram commanders have continued to surrender following the window provided by the Theater Command of Operation Lafiya Dole.
The Theater had recently opened seven surrendering camps for Boko Haram insurgents that are willing to surrender and lay down their arms.
Parading two commanders before newsmen in Maiduguri, Theater Commander Operation Lafiya Dole Major General Rogers Nicolas called on the remnants of the insurgents to take advantage of the opportunity provided as they will be treated with dignity.
One of the Commanders Ibrahim Dala alias Abu Ali confirmed to Radio Nigeria that many Boko Haram fighters are willing to surrender but are apprehensive about how the military will treat them.
He called on other members of the group to come out from their hiding and embrace the path of peace.
